Florida Vacation for Vermont Travelers Easier Courtesy of JetBlue

florida vacation

Good news for Vermonters seeking a Florida Vacation, JetBlue Airways added a nonstop service between Burlington and Orlando, starting 1/10, 2007. The well-known airline will operate 1 daily flight on the route, giving Vermont its only nonstop flight to Florida. Introductory fares to Florida start as low as seventy-nine dollars each way, while regular fares start at ninety-nine dollars each way.

"Vermonters remember that JetBlue brought low fares to town, and we're happy to thank them with the addition of nonstop service to their most requested destination," stated Marty St. George, JetBlue's VP of Network Planning.

In addition to the non-stop Florida service, JetBlue also offers 4 daily low-fare flights from Burlington International Airport to NYC's John F. Kennedy International Airport, where easy connections are available to 7 cities in Florida, plus forty-nine cities across the USA, Caribbean and Mexico.

"JetBlue has been a major air carrier in Burlington since 2000, and I am proud to have helped the incubation of this successful partnership since its inception," said Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy.

"JetBlue's arrival has been a significant factor in the expansion of Burlington International Airport as a business gateway, and many Vermonters have come to rely on JetBlue for their regular low fares and reliable service. JetBlue is already the largest carrier between Vermont and Florida, and it is great news that JetBlue now will be offering direct Orlando service to its Burlington travelers during the busy winter travel season."

"We are pleased that JetBlue is expanding another nonstop route from Orlando," said Ray Gilley, President and CEO, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission. "This new direct link to Burlington, Vermont, is great for business. With a connecting flight no longer needed between the areas, it will help save time, money, productivity...and bring humanity to business travel."

Florida Travel Affected by Hurricane Dean

Hurricane Dean is already hitting Florida travel and Caribbean vacationing. Carnival began re-scheduling cruises Thursday throughout the Caribbean, nixing a Friday stop in Antigua for the Destiny and moving the Miracle's Monday destination from the British Virgin Islands to the Bahamas.

But Royal Caribbean declared it too early to start running for cover. Company officials will meet this morning at eleven to check the latest forecast and decide if cruises should change plans, spokesman Michael Sheehan said.

"The storm is an evolving situation," he said. "We're looking at these three-day and five-day cones. And that's a long time off from now."

With only general forecasts available, the National Hurricane Center said Thursday the eye of Dean will hit either Cuba or Jamaica on Sunday afternoon.

Great Florida Travel - Golfing Getaway

florida travel

Are you looking for a great Florida travel destination place to take the family next summer, a place where the wife and kids can have a good time, but where dad can experience some high quality golfing?

How about taking a Florida vacation to Northern Florida? More specifically, the northwest section of the state, where beautiful little cities with sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico create a relaxing, invigorating, environment.

Located near Panama City Beach, the WaterColor region is where the movie "The Truman Show" was shot. And much like the film, you'll find yourself wondering if it's real or all just a movie set.

It's perfection, as is the golf.

The Camp Creek Golf Club is a world-class course, designed by the legendary Tom Fazio.

This course was ranked eight last year out of the seven hundred public-access courses.

The course was recently selected as one of the Top Golf Courses in the United States by the Zagat Guides for 2007-08.

The 7,151-yard course is vastly governed by water, which should come as no surprise given its proximity to the Gulf.
The northwest Florida area is a great golfing destination.
